Hi, I’m Josh, let me tell you a little about myself and how I become a Counselor here in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Personal: A little bit about me… In my free time, I enjoy listening to podcasts and books about my favorite subjects and getting more info about how to help people. I love following sports, playing the guitar and recreating outdoors. I love golfing and fishing with my son, playing tennis with my daughter, and riding bikes with my wonderful wife. I mostly like doing things with my family and friends.
Where it all began….In college I noticed that I had a lot of people asking me for advice or sharing their problems with me naturally. During this time I found mentor who helped change my life when I was struggling to figure things out. He truly inspired me and believed in me when I didn’t. This is when I developed my vision for helping hurting people and it has seemed to be my natural calling. I absolutely love what I do and have a lot of fun doing it. Yes, therapy can be fun!
Professional: I have great results helping my clients reach their goals and receive wonderful reviews and feedback from them. Most of my clients come from word of mouth from past clients and other professionals. I provide multiple solutions that enable my clients to find meaning, purpose and connection in their lives. I have a relatable, big-hearted approach and try to sprinkle in some humor to put people at ease.
I have extensive training and experience helping couples restore and strengthen their relationships, and individuals and teens heal from depression, anxiety and trauma. I have also worked with groups, provided spiritual counsel to pastors and have led various workshops for hundreds in the community on mental health and relationships.
Education: I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Biola University. I have been practicing therapy for the past 15 years. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of North Carolina and California.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you! I provide Counseling in my office in Charlotte at the Arboretum and virtual counseling anywhere in North Carolina.
